Liza Borches, recently honored as 2020 Business Leader of the Year by the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, recognizes her team for everyone’s dedication in assisting not just their customers but including the community during these trying times.

It is no secret that COVID-19 has affected businesses including Carter Myers Automotive dealerships yet the company was able to live up its vision to move lives forward.

CMA through Borches’ leadership, came up with the idea of creating a community helpline for those who need assistance like going grocery shopping or picking up medicines. CMA cars were used for the errands and staff were also a big part in helping out the community.

“So associates were coming in each day and people were kind of just standing around without a whole lot to do,” Liza Borches, president and CEO of Carter Myers, said. “But our team was committed to being there. We knew we needed to be there for our customers.”

The Chamber Business Leader of the Year Award is given to an outstanding leader who has significantly contributed to the success of the Greater Charlottesville communities, according to cartermyersautomotive.com

Borches was also recently included in the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry today.
