Walser Auto Groups' Walser Foundation Director: 'We look forward to seeing what this talented group of students does next'

The Walser Foundation presented its first-ever class of scholarship winners with financial awards July 18.

Noah Becker, Tyler Sammons, Louis Kramer, Kailey Kahlow, and Isabella Jackomino were the five winners of the inaugural "Walser's Driven To Succeed Scholarship Program". The program, which launched in May, provides children or dependents of Walser Automotive Group employees with $2,500 in tuition assistance towards post-secondary education. Eligible scholars can receive up to $10,000 across their lifetime.

“It’s an honor to connect with these impressive young adults and learn firsthand about the passions and aspirations that drive them,” Walser Foundation Director Nancy Warner said. “We’re proud to see the Walser Foundation make an even deeper impact on these students and our employees.”

The Walser Foundation has also made a name for itself as a major donor to various causes. The foundation donates over $500,000 annually to nonprofit organizations, and offers high school students in Walser communities public-facing scholarships. The "Walser Driving a Stronger Community" scholarship, for example, is aimed at students engaged in civic engagement and volunteer work. The foundation primarily supports nonprofits focused on education and workforce development, including the automotive and transportation fields. However, the board insists that the focus of their new scholarship program expands beyond those two areas. The five new scholarship winners are currently eyeing careers in law, hospitality, cybersecurity, occupational therapy, and entrepreneurship.

“The automotive industry is an amazing place to grow a career. As a family-run business, we know that firsthand," Warner said. "That said, we’re committed to connecting even further with Walser employees and their families. It’s inspiring to see the children behind our coworkers and understand the things that drive them. We look forward to seeing what this talented group of students does next.”

The "Driven To Succeed" program will be open to new applicants in Spring 2023.
