Over 100 years ago, in 1909, Frank Covert Sr. opened the first automobile dealership in central Texas.

A five-generation, family-owned dealership, Covert Auto Group provides the best possible customer service.

Brothers Rox, Duke, and Danay are fourth-generation Coverts. They follow a long line of professionals who provided Texas with superb customer service when purchasing a car, according to The Austin Business Journal. The goal of this family of brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles is to leave a legacy for their children that they can be proud of.

"That's really why we have expanded as we have over the last 20 years," Rox told Mega Dealer News. "All three of us have children that are already involved in the business, and we want to have room for everyone."

Courtney Covert Elliot, a member of the fifth generation, told The Austin Business Journal that she and her cousins enjoy carrying on the tradition.

"We never got pressure from my dad or my uncles to work in the business," she said. "It just seemed like the natural thing to do. We all grew up with the car business."

Covert Sr. saw an opportunity in 1909 when he was one of the first residents to view someone driving an automobile down the street. The driver was a business owner looking for someone willing to open an automobile dealership, and Covert Sr. saw an opportunity to change his life and legacy.

Duke told The Austin Business Journal that one reason he enjoys working with his family is that he could rely on them to take charge while he recovered from a stroke.

"What better situation than to have my two brothers in charge while I was recuperating?" he said.

Danay said one great aspect of working with his family is knowing each other inside and out.

"Because we are brothers, we know each other's strengths and shortcomings," Danay said. "We all have our jobs to do. If we do have a problem, we just keep at it until we make it work."

Rox told The Austin Business Journal that the company is private.

"It's not like public companies that are using other people's money," he said. "This is our money. We started the research several years in advance and considered every move very carefully."
