Professional drivers Ashton Harrison and Mario Farnbacher on April 17 earned a Pro/Am class spot on the podium at the season opener of the SRO Fanatec World Challenge America Weekend.

Finishing in second place, the duo competed in their Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22. Drivers Michael Cooper and Erin Vogel clinched a sixth-place Pro/Am result, according to a press release from Acura.

"Vogel and HPD Academy graduate Harrison qualified 18th and 19th overall on Saturday, and both drivers made up ground quickly in the opening race," Acura officials said in the press release. "After an hour of the 90-minute contest, each had advanced seven positions. With just seven minutes remaining, HPD Factory driver Farnbacher passed Cooper, as the Racers Edge and RealTime Acuras finished in sixth and seventh in the Pro/Am class in the opener."

Acura reported that Farnbacher did well in the second qualifying session in the Racers Edge Motorsports NSX GT3, with a best time of 1:49.342, placing him close to the top for the race.

"But, about 16 minutes into the race, Giacomo Altoè squeezed through the inside of Turn 9, forcing Farnbacher off track and onto the grass, losing three positions as he recovered," Acura officials said in the press release. "Once back on the circuit, Farnbacher and Harrison continued their strong run, finishing Sunday's race second in the Pro/Am class. In the RealTime Acura, Cooper and Vogel continued to improve, finishing sixth in Pro/Am on Sunday."
