Porsche Cars North America, Inc., posted 2021 as its best year ever, with a large growth in retail deliveries over those of 2020.

It bested its own previous year's sales record, despite supply chain issues and the global semiconductor crisis.

"I'd like to thank our loyal customers and welcome every new friend who joined the Porsche family in 2021,” Kjell Gruner, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, toldd CarBuzz. “Our sales were driven by the strongest and most exciting lineup of cars we've ever had, combined with a shared commitment with our dealers to raise the bar for customer experience."

Porsche had 70,025 retail deliveries in 2021, which is up 22% from 2020 and 14% from 2019.

Last year’s fourth quarter reached a new high of 18,410 deliveries, and year-end orders were at their highest level yet.

The best-performing vehicles for Porsche were the Macan and Cayenne SUVs with 42,015 sales, CarBuzz reported. The Boxster and Cayman also experienced a 25% sales increase for the year.
