In response to the recent deadly storms and tornadoes in Kentucky, Texas-based Big Spring Ford has partnered with nonprofit True Rescue Resources and Weather to assist the victims, many of whom were left homeless.

According to a report by News West 9, True Rescue Resources and Weather works with emergency personnel to help those in need. Kimber Phillips is an employee of the dealership and said that she was impressed with the support the Big Spring community has shown.

“Big Spring has a huge heart, and I love living here," Phillips told News West 9. "Even for the smallest things, the community steps up and steps in. I feel like this is true to Big Spring.”

Another worker at Big Spring Ford is Jamie Bitner, who helped start True Rescue Resources and Weather several years ago. She said after her community received assistance when Hurricane Harvey hit, she knew it was time for her and the community to give back to those who need their help.

“Texas is a big state, and we have enough people,” she told News West 9. “We have enough resources, so let’s show the love.”

Big Spring Ford and True Rescue Resources and Weather collected an assortment of needed items, including nonperishable food, hygiene products, sleeping bags, heaters and more. Donations were being accepted until the end of the year.
