The 2022 Cadillac Escalade, a luxury SUV, is back on track to offer the Super Cruise feature, after pausing the availability of the feature previously.

"We’re excited to expand Super Cruise to even more new models with additional capabilities to provide our customers with even more opportunities to go hands-free,” Mario Maiorana, GM's Super Cruise chief engineer, told Automotive Fleet. “The additional Super Cruise-enabled vehicles and new features are an important step toward our goal of enabling more hands-free driving and getting people more comfortable with letting go of the wheel.”

Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous driver-assist system that allows for hands-free driving on highways. "Super Cruise... will quickly prompt the driver to take control if it detects drowsiness or encounters an unusual situation, like a car suddenly cutting into the lane ahead," according to CarBuzz.

The system costs an additional $2,500 with the Cadillac Escalade’s base price of more than $75,000, CarBuzz reported.

Super Cruise comes standard on Escalade’s Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport and Sport Platinum trim levels, according to GM Authority.
