A Harrisonburg, Virginia, Subaru dealership was recognized with a philanthropy award.

Bob Wade Subaru has been honored with the Corporate Philanthropy Award, which recognizes a corporation or foundation that has given back to its community.

“You have to give back to your local community who supports you,” John Wade, owner of Bob Wade Subaru, told WHSV3. “We are just trying to do our part to help out because a lot of people supported this business for a long time. We just want to give back, and I think everybody does that in every business and school alike. I don’t think you can go around Harrisonburg and not find somebody who is helping.”

For each vehicle sold at Bob Wade Subaru from November to Jan. 1, 2022, $250 will be donated to the RMH Foundation, which supports Sentara RMH Medical Center and enhances its mission to improve health and promote well-being.

Bob Wade Subaru has donated over $75,000 over the past six years, WHSV3 reported.

“Those donations have helped the Hahn Cancer Center with their renovations. Also, the heart vascular center, where we were able to build the Hybrid OR to make hearts healthier in this community,’' Janet Wendelken, senior development officer at the RMH Foundation, told WHSV3.
