A St. Cloud, Minnesota, dealership hosted a traditional Thanksgiving dinner last week to help launch its “Share the Love” campaign.

St. Cloud Subaru kicked off its “Share the Love” promotion with an offer of Thanksgiving dinner to those who need it. The dealership has partnered with Place of Hope in St. Cloud to offer the free take-out dinner to local families.

“If you come into work early, you see about 10 kids out there getting ready to get on the school bus,” St. Cloud Subaru General Manager Bobby Konnight told KNSI radio, referring to a homeless shelter near the dealership. “And just to think of what kind of situation they’re in. And this was a way that we could help.”

The partnership helped feed the 17 families staying in the homeless shelter, noting that many of those families have children.

For over a decade, Subaru has helped raise funds for several organizations by providing financial support from sales of their vehicles.

The 13th annual "Share the Love" event will last from Nov. 18 until Monday, Jan. 3. Donations will come with the sale of every vehicle during that time period.

"Right now, $300 from every car bought at the dealership will support a Place of Hope and its mission," according to KNSI radio. "Konnight says he hopes to raise $60,000 and sell at least 200 cars during the dealership’s Share the Love event."
