Vaden Chevrolet Pooler, a dealership located in Georgia, donated a $5,000 check on Nov. 2 to Union Mission's Emergency Housing Programs, which aim to eradicate homelessness by providing housing and customized services for clients.

"Union Mission is such a force for good in our local communities," Jane Vaden Thacher, President of Vaden Automotive, told Savannah Business Journal. "November is National Homeless Awareness Month, and we are happy to help those in need and promote the services available at Union Mission. As the season of giving approaches, we hope others will join the cause."

The 90-day Emergency Housing Programs are all about offering basic human needs so the recipients can become independent members of the community. This includes clothing, housing, food, employment support, transportation and access to mental health care.

In the year 2020 alone, the Union Mission helped 667 men, women and children who were living on the streets of Savannah by providing them with safe housing and meals.

In the same year, the Union Mission was successful in providing 97,130 nights of housing and 78,200 meals, according to Savannah Business Journal.
