The rumors about Nissan GT-R have been making the rounds as far back as 2013, but now some new details have come up regarding this car's power train.

Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida informed Autocar that the company is investigating different ways in which they can electrify GT-R.

"We are looking at how we can do it electrified," Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida told Autocar.

It has been over 10 years since the Nissan GT-R first went on sale, but a new generation could be on the horizon. Car and Driver says, "Rumors have swirled regarding the successor to the R35 GT-R."

Hybrid electrification would boost fuel efficiency and acceleration, according to Car and Driver.

It is still not clear whether the new generation GT-R would be built on a new platform or not. There's no official statement on the date of release, but if rumors are to be believed, you can expect the next-gen GT-R before 2031.
