A Michigan Upper Peninsula dealership is raising money during the month of October to help cancer patients.

Marthaler Auto Group is matching donations up to $5,000 and raising money through pink ribbon signings, T-shirt sales and donations.

“We want to try to help as many people as possible,” Nikki Remilong, Marthaler General Manager, told the TV6 News Team. “Our community has such great support for this. We have people that will stop in just to donate or buy a T-shirt or anything, just so they can try to help somebody and get it to somebody who is in need.”

This is the third year in a row the dealership has run a fundraiser for cancer during the month of October, raising over $7,000 in 2020 with hopes of raising even more this year.

On Friday, Oct. 22, Marthaler is also holding its Drive Cancer Out Walk for Awareness event. It will be a short walk followed by refreshments and ribbon signing. Participants can also have the chance to purchase shirts and donate money. The dealership will have an information station and spokesperson from several local cancer organizations, according to Marthaler's Facebook events page.

Marthaler is an auto dealership in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, located in the city of Marquette at 919 W. Baraga Avenue.
