A Maine dealership has partnered with a local brewing company in celebration of its 110 years in the business.

In its more than a century of existence, Hight Family of Dealerships tapped into a partnership with Bigelow Brewing Company to release Hight’s Tin Can Sailor beer to honor its founders and forefathers. In particular, the beer is a tribute to the late Lt. S. Kirby Hight's legacy as a war hero and business icon.

“The Skowhegan Free Public Library was an organization that my grandparents, Kirby and Grace, were passionate about, and it seemed appropriate to choose this organization as the first beneficiary of Tin Can Sailor,” Sam Hight, dealer principal at Hight Ford, told the Sun Journal.

The Hights will be donating $1 to the Skowhegan Free Public Library for each can of Tin Can Sailor that is sold.

The Tin Can Sailor underscores Lt. Hight’s love for scotch, cigars and dedication to the community. The collaboration is the first known partnership between a dealership and a brewery, the Sun Journal reported. "Tin Can Sailor" is a term that was used to describe Navy sailors on destroyers.

Bigelow Brewing Company, founded in 2013, is also a Skowhegan company. It distributes to more than 700 locations across the state of Maine.
