An Indianapolis used car dealership is donating cars to some special Indiana residents in need of vehicles.

The dealership owners are hoping recipients will "pay it forward," too. Indy Auto Man has recently donated a Toyota Camry to Aletha Powell, an advocate for supporting children with special needs.

“When we came to the United States, our families were very poor, and we lived off welfare and pretty much the generosity of other people,” Eugene Gorin, co-owner of Indy Auto Man, told FOX 59. “We had to walk miles to get to the grocery store. Our parents had to hitchhike to get to work. When we got to a position where we were able to give back, we wanted to do something that was impactful and at the same time kind of represented what we do.”

The dealership intends to donate cars every month and has asked the public for nominations of people who will use the free car for doing good, according to Fox 59.

Nominations for the IAM 4 INDY program can be submitted through the Indy Auto Man website. Applicants should be at least 18 years old to qualify and must be current resident of Indiana. They should also have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and no outstanding warrants or legal violations.

The dealership is specifically looking for someone who embodies the following values: initiative, honesty, hard work, continued education, self-motivation and improvement, and a passion for paying it forward.

Recipients of the donated car will also be given a free car service for a year by the dealership.
