After the summer, Florida's Jenkins Auto Group will be the new owners of three Crystal car dealerships -- Crystal Ford-Lincoln, Crystal Chevrolet and Crystal Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram -- if the deal closes by that time.

Steve Lamb, Crystal Automotive, Motorcycle and Tractor Group president said the increased demand for vehicles prompted him to sell the three dealerships.

“The timing is right,” Lamb told the Citrus County Chronicle. “The Jenkins Group is a good company.”

Lamb and his wife, Jewel, will still own one more vehicle dealership, a Harley-Davidson franchise, in Citrus County after Ocala-based Jenkins Automotive Group purchases the other three.

According to Maria Patino, customer and community relations director for Jenkins Auto Group, the company is excited to offer jobs to all 200 current Crystal Automotive dealership employees. Jenkins also intends to continue Lambs’ community social responsibility activities focusing on education, transportation and the arts needs of the area, the Citrus County Chronicle reported.

Jenkins Auto Group, which acquired a Citrus Kia dealership in Crystal River in February, specializes in sales and service of new and pre-owned vehicles with 14 dealerships in Florida and Georgia. Their inventory includes Acura, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, Volkswagen and Chevrolet.
