San Antonio-based Cavender Auto Group has acquired the Grande Ford dealership, which is located at 4562 I-10 in San Antonio, Texas.
This acquisition — the terms of which have not been disclosed — is the auto group’s sixth dealership in San Antonio.
“Adding Ford to the Cavender Auto Group platform has been our goal for several years,” Cavender Auto Group President Bobby Cavender told the San Antonio Express-News. “Cavender Grande Ford is a great step forward for us and will allow us to increase our offerings for the people and businesses in and around San Antonio.”
The auto group intends to operate the dealership with a different facility environment, including hiring new technicians and sales associates, but most of Grande Ford’s employees will be retained.
The Cavender Auto Group is a separate entity from the Cavender Auto Family, which also announced new acquisitions of six West Texas dealerships, the San Antonio Express-News reported. The Cavender Family, which now includes its fourth generation running the business, has been selling and servicing vehicles in San Antonio and South Texas for more than 80 years.
The eight-decade brand is now known for its eight separate dealership facilities selling Audi, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Land Rover and Toyota, according to Cavender Auto.
