Finding electric vehicles in or around Cape Girardeau, Missouri, is not much of a problem with a number of growing dealerships in the area now offering them.

Siemers Drive in Cape Girardeau has numerous dealerships offering at least one electric vehicle, according to KFVS12.

“Electric vehicles are on the rise right now," Nissan sales professional Ray Council told Jeremy Ford of KVFS12. “A lot of people have been eager to know about when we will actually be able to officially sell more of those here (and) have more on the lot.”

Council said that multiple states throughout the U.S. are campaigning for an increase in electric car usage, adding that California may go full electric on the road in 2030.

The increasing accessibility to this vehicle's power supply comes after the federal government announced a plan to install more charging stations across the country and intends to spend over $170 billion on electric vehicle expansion.

While electric cars may be all the rage, there's concern that the next cyber attack could render them useless. Even if there hasn’t been a successful cyber attack in the last two decades, that "doesn’t mean it can’t happen," according to American Public Power Association President and CEO Joy Ditto, NBC News reported.

Susan Bell, Director at Americas Refining & Marketing, IHS Markit, also said that the electric grid is vulnerable to both digital attacks and physical issues.
