Even more AutoNation dealerships have been named J.D. Power Dealer of Excellence this year than last year.

AutoNation was able to register 78 of its retailers to be certified by J.D. Power in its Dealer of Excellence Program.

"We could not be prouder. This recognition amplifies AutoNation’s commitment to providing a peerless customer experience as the clear industry leader, and every member of our team shares in this achievement," AutoNation president and COO Jim Bender told Auto Remarketing.

Fifty-four of this year’s 78 AutoNation J.D Power Dealer of Excellence winners also earned the same recognition last year, according to Auto Remarketing.

Qualifying dealerships must pass a rigid three-step process. Initially, J.D. Power places a threshold on the percentage of eligible dealerships by nameplate, according to the performance of each brand in the most recent J.D. Power U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) study. Proportionally more dealerships from top-performing brands will have the opportunity to be a qualified J.D. Power Dealer of Excellence. Secondly, the stores must rank among their brand’s top performers in key customer satisfaction areas consistent with the criteria set in the SSI study. Lastly, qualifying dealers must pass an audit showing they meet or exceed J.D. Power sales best practices.

AutoNation USA plans to open a dealership in a 4.7-acre site in Boise, Idaho, which would include a 13,246-square-foot area for vehicle and parts sales, plus a 5,068-square-foot shop, BoiseDev reported.
