Libertyville mayor thanks Mile of Cars for its 'ongoing support of community events and organizations'

A dozen Libertyville auto dealerships donated at least $30,000 to four local charities.

Libertyville Mile of Cars, an association of Libertyville, Illinois, vehicle dealerships selected four charities within their community that have been supporting families during the unprecedented events of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their chosen organizations are: Lake County Haven, the Libertyville Township Food Pantry, PADS Lake County and Youth & Family Counseling.

"Vehicle-related businesses are crucial to our local economy through their sales taxes, employment, connections to other local business and their ongoing support of community events and organizations," Libertyville Mayor Terry Weppler said, according to Cision PR Newswire.

The association’s donations were part of the Libertyville rewards program that was held from October 2020 until February 2021. Certificates from various shops and restaurants in the Village of Libertyville were given to car shoppers or clients who purchased or leased a new vehicle from Libertyville Mile of Cars. The certificates were then able to be exchanged for goods and services at selected Libertyville businesses.

Libertyville brought the program back as a way to help struggling businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic by encouraging people to purchase their new vehicles from these dealerships. More importantly, it was a way to show appreciation to the community who supported local businesses in Libertyville.

The Libertyville Mile of Cars is close to I-94 in the Chicago area. With multiple dealerships that are moments away from each other, the area serves as a very important economic hub for the suburb.
