A California dealership had the honor of sponsoring one of the competing cars in last month's Bristol Dirt Race.

Joining a race is probably the most effective form of marketing for Elk Grove Ford, according to owner Matt Wood.

“Everybody wants to go play in the NASCAR world,” Wood said, according to Fox 40. “It’s a fun world. That’s a bucket list item you think you’re never going to be able to check off. We were fortunate enough to check it off.”

The dealership sponsored the No. 78 Ford for Live Fast Motorsports and race in the Bristol Dirt Race in March. Wood, however, wouldn’t disclose the exact amount he and his marketing partners paid to be the charter sponsor, but he remarked it was a lot of money, FOX40 reported.

Despite a lack of experience at the Cup Series level, Wood’s dirt track racing driver, Shane Golobic, had done his 41 laps well before No. 78 Ford got involved in a collision, ending the race for them.

Founded in 2010, Elk Grove Ford is a new- and preowned-vehicle dealership conveniently located in the Elk Grove, Sacramento and Stockton, California, area. The dealership also offers a selection of quality used cars in Sacramento, including those from automakers like BMW, Nissan and Toyota.
