AutoNation and Inter Miami CF, a South Florida-based professional soccer team, formed a partnership to help fund cancer research.

Key to that partnership is AutoNation having naming rights of Inter Miami's stadium and branding on training kits.

The partnership also expands AutoNation's reach into the Spanish-language market, which includes extensive TV and digital exposure, according to Cision PR Newswire.

"Welcome to DRV PNK Stadium. I believe that shared values are the core of all relationships,” Jorge Mas, Inter Miami's managing owner, wrote on Twitter. “I proudly stand along(side) my friend Marc Cannon (AutoNation's executive vice president) and the branded training jersey, knowing that the partnership of AutoNation and Inter Miami CF is rooted in a commitment to impact our community."

Additionally, AutoNation will become the sponsor of the "saves" feature during Inter Miami matches. This would mean that AutoNation and Inter Miami will donate up to $100,000 towards cancer research for every Inter Miami goalkeeper save.

The 18,000-seat stadium, which was built last year on the former Lockhart Stadium site, will be named “DRV PNK Stadium” in support of AutoNation’s DRV PNK cancer-fighting mission, reported the Miami Herald. AutoNation supports various organizations across the country, including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Cleveland Clinic and Moffitt Cancer Center.

Recently, Inter Miami has named its former consultant, Xavier Asensi, as its chief business officer, according to the South Florida SunSentinel.
