America’s Car-Mart has named Dawn C. Morris to the board of directors to succeed Jim von Gremp, who retired last August.

Morris is a West Point graduate, formerly served as the chief digital and marketing officer at First Horizon Corp. and brings a wealth of knowledge from her past experience to America's Car-Mart.

“Dawn brings expertise transforming organizations through digital and customer-centric strategies which will add great value as we continue to implement and improve our digital presence and customer experience strategy,” America’s Car-Mart President and CEO Jeff Williams said in a news release. “We are pleased to welcome her to our board and look forward to benefiting from her insight.”

Morris has served as a board member for several nonprofits in child development and the arts, the release said. These include positions on the board of Marketing EDGE, a nonprofit that helps college students enter the field of marketing; the Girls Scouts of Connecticut and Massachusetts, and she served as a co-chair with Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont on the Governor’s Prevention Partnership.

After graduating from West Point, Morris served as an officer at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, before joining RBC in 2002 to work in corporate leadership and corporate strategy. In 2010, Morris became a senior vice president at RBS Citizens Financial Group before joining Webster Bank four years later as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

At First Horizon, Morris worked on marketing for digital banking and customer experience. Morris also continues to speak worldwide at conferences on marketing strategy.

America’s Car-Mart has dealerships in 12 states and is one of the largest publicly held automotive retailers in the United States.
