Toyota Motor North America reports month-end, 2020 year-end sales

Toyota Motor North America gained sales by 20.4% on a volume basis and 7.5% on a daily selling rate basis in December 2020 compared to December 2019.

Full calendar sales is 2.1 million units sold, low by 11.3% on a volume and a drop of 11.9% on a DSR basis.

Both Toyota and Lexus Divisions’ December figures went up on a volume basis.

Toyota, which remained as the number one retail brand on its ninth straight year, reported 211,378 units sold, 22.9% up on a volume basis and 9.7% on a DSR basis. Full-year sales is at 1.8 millioin vehicles, representing an 11.9% drop on a volume basis and a 12.4% decrease on a DSR basis.

Lexus, which had 8.2% increase on a volume basis but a 3.4% drop on a DSR basis had 38,223 units sold in December. Full-year sales which totaled 275,041, is down by 7.7% and 8.3%, on a volume and DSR basis, respectively. Lexus December sales is the best month ever for the year, according to PR Newswire.
