Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) experienced its first year-over-year sales drop in the U.S. since 2012.

After seven consecutive years of sales growth, the company saw a decline in sales, it posted a 28% drop on its full calendar year sales in which it only sold 87,387 vehicles compared to its 2019 sales of 121,046.

MMNA’s 2020 fourth-quarter sales is a 42% drop from its 24,474 units sold in the same period last year. Only 14,770 vehicles have been sold in the fourth quarter of 2020.

In the face of the pandemic, MMNA has supported and sustained its franchise dealer network and business by reducing the dealer stock and fleet sales, according to PR Newswire.

Despite the decline in sales, Mitsubishi Motors is proud of its efforts in assisting its dealer partners in protecting employees and customers with COVID-19 health protocols.

The company is looking forward to having a better 2021. In fact, it is scheduled to introduce the redesigned 2022 Eclipse Cross, redesigned 2021 Mirage and Mirage G4, and the all-new next-generation 2022 Outlander over the duration of the first quarter of this year.
