After nearly eight decades of operations, Kia is celebrating the release of its new corporate logo and global brand slogan, both of which are being touted as hailing its planned rise in the future mobility industry.

According to PR Newswire, the logo represents a symbol of the company’s “new brand purpose and the values it promises to offer customers through future products and services.”

With the new logo resembling a handwritten signature, top-level executives are further promoting it as “representing the company's commitment to becoming an icon for change and innovation."

"The automotive industry is experiencing a period of rapid transformation and Kia is proactively shaping and adapting to these changes. Our new logo represents our desire to inspire customers as their mobility needs evolve, and for our employees to rise to the challenges we face in a fast-changing industry," President and CEO Ho Sung Song said.

The new logo was unveiled during a record-breaking pyrotechnic display in the skies above Incheon, Korea where at least 303 pyrodrones launched hundreds of fireworks in a coordinated artistic display. The display set a new Guinness World Record for Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) launching fireworks simultaneously.

In addition to an all-new logo, Kia recently revealed its new global brand slogan, "Movement that inspires." Along with details on Kia's new brand strategy, the company is set to unveil its future product line-up at a Jan. 15 “New Kia Brand Showcase” that can be viewed on the Kia Global You Tube channel.

Founded in 1944, Kia promotes itself as having been in the “movement industry” for more than 75 years. The company employs more than 52,000 workers across the globe and has a presence in more than 190 markets accounting for the sale of roughly 3 million vehicles annually.
