Another batch of 16 college freshmen across the U.S. has been granted a Kia Motors America’s Great Unknowns Scholarship award.

Each of this year’s scholars including the first batch of 16 students from last year will be receiving $5,000.

These second batch of recipients are enrolled in different colleges and universities including Cleveland Institute of Art, Cal State Northridge, Harvard University, Henderson State University, Mercer University, Michigan State University, Montana State University, New York University, SUNY New Paltz, Tulane University, University of Connecticut, University of Florida, University of New Mexico, Vanderbilt University, Virginia Tech and Waynesburg University.

They have been selected based on academic performance, financial need and the demonstrable ways they make a difference by "giving it everything" within their local school systems and communities, according to PR Newswire.

"Kia is proud to help young people in need nationwide and excited to award the Great Unknowns Scholarships to a new class of bright and talented students," Russell Wager, director, marketing operations of Kia Motors America, said. "The 32 students receiving the scholarship certainly gave it everything as they completed their respective academic years in the midst of this global health pandemic. With remote learning, abridged or outright canceled schedules, these students didn't miss a step when it came to their education and making a difference in their communities."
