Courtesy Nissan of Richardson has recently honored Retired U.S. Coast Guard officer Gilbert “Frenchy” Benoit with a brand new 2020 Nissan Compact Cargo Van.

Together with Wells Fargo and Military Warriors Support Foundation, the dealership granted Benoit a new, payment-free, spacious Nissan compact van, with a remote start and that has been outfitted with hand controls and a wheelchair ramp designed by the Veterans Administration – which would be very helpful to the Benoit.

Benoit was a Vietnam veteran and war hero who lost his legs in service. He has been presented with a Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, a Navy Commendation Medal with Valor and a Purple Heart award.

"Maybe this can be a little bit of positive light for him going forward and he seems pretty happy about it so I'm happy to be a part of it," Courtesy Nissan general manager Brady Bishop said in a press release from Group 1 Automotive.
