Earnhardt Auto Centers in partnership with State Forty-Eight has awarded more than $6,100 to the Chandler Compadres, a nonprofit charitable organization supporting East Valley families in need.

The collaboration between Earnhardt and State Forty-Eight gave birth to Tex Earnhardt Memorial t-shirt, in commemoration of Earnhardt Auto Centers’ founder Tex Earnhardt and his love for children, according to PR Newswire.

Over 1,100 shirts have been sold and each Tex Earnhardt Memorial shirt earned $5 in proceeds for charity.

Tex died last April.

"The loss of such an inspirational man was devastating to the Earnhardt family, employees and the millions of people who knew of the legendary icon," Derby Earnhardt, Tex's grandson, said. "In his memory and to shine light on Tex Earnhardt's mark on the economic landscape of the Southwest and the hearts of Arizonans, we created the Tex Earnhardt Memorial t-shirt with State Forty-Eight."

Apart from Chandler Compadres, the dealership employees also help fund No Bull Charities, which donates to a different charity every quarter.
