Striving to uplift humanity is the goal for Carter Myers Automotive president and CEO Liza Borches and her team of other senior executives.

All three CMA Subaru dealerships recently earned 2020 Subaru Love Promise awards, which are bestowed upon company dealerships deemed to be "making the world a better place while demonstrating an outstanding commitment to supporting passions and causes in local communities.”

Borches insists it’s all become second nature to her and her crew.

“We have a vision of respecting all people and respecting all customers,” she told Mega Dealer News. “That’s where it starts, and from there we’re committed to making a difference in the community that benefits all of us.”

CMA’s Colonial Subaru and Subaru of Winchester both bagged Community Commitment Awards while Valley Subaru was honored with the Customer & Community Commitment Award.

“We’re always giving back and we're doing these kinds of things even before the Love Promise Awards,” Borches said. “One of the reasons we were an easy selection is because the qualities they outline for the award are the core values we pride ourselves on having here at Subaru.”

Since taking over at the dealership from her father in 2012, Borches said the company has always prided itself on its charitable outreach. One of the projects the family-owned business is most proud of is where it works with several self-help groups to repair and upgrade vehicles at no cost or on the company’s time for struggling families that count not having reliable transportation as one of their biggest roadblocks.

“Every year, the community plays an important part in our business plan,” she said. “I feel like I’m one of the lucky ones and my personal mission is to help as many people as I can feel as lucky in life as I do.”
