Kia Motors America has released its August sales figures showing a total of 57,015 vehicles sold.
Forte led the August performance with 8,414 units sold and is followed by last month’s leader, Sorento, with 7,809 vehicles sold.
Retail sales of 56,015 is a major factor in Kia’s August volume comprising 98% and represents the second-highest monthly retails sales total ever in the car brand’s history.
Seltos has also recorded its highest monthly total for the second consecutive month with 5,314 units sold.
Telluride sets the bar with an all-time monthly sale record of 7,588 vehicles sold and an 11.2% gain over last month’s sales.
Additionally, the all-new K5 demonstrated a strong performance in August with sales almost thrice compared to July, despite segment volatility, according to PR Newswire.
"Despite fewer selling days year-over-year, retail sales made up the overwhelming majority of our August business and will continue to do so moving forward," Bill Peffer, vice president, sales operations of Kia Motors America, said. "With record-setting performances from Telluride and Seltos and a significant ramp-up of up our sedan business with the all-new K5 and our popular Forte compact sedan, Kia continues to outperform the industry and our upward trajectory is primed to continue through the end of the third quarter and beyond."
