Quirk Auto Group congratulates Quirk Motor City 17U, the players and coaches Lincoln and Frey, for its 6-5 comeback win over Turner Bandits as they emerged as the state champions at the 2020 Maine Independent Baseball League.

This is the second consecutive year the team became state champions, according to quirkauto.com.

The Quirk Motor City 19U team had a strong season ranked No. 1 during the regular season. The 19U team’s semi-final game against Tidewater Oil (Midcoast in Belfast) was their last for the season.

The 2020 Quirk Motor City 17U roster includes Kaden Robert, Micah Robert, Jason Libby, Casey Downs, Matt Seymour, Issac Hayes, Noah Thibeault, Nolan Hodgkins, Mason Hopkins, Dakota Pinkham, Chase Crossman, Collin Simpson, Josh Thomas, Cameron Zugelder, and Silas Graham.

Ben Spear, Tanner Evans, Michael Brown, Sam Harman, Reece Carter, Alex Tash, Kaiden Crowley, Gage Poulin, Ethan Newcomb, Andy Hopkins, Joe D’Angelo, Bryce Richards, Alex Morrison, Hunter Weeks and Matt Seymour were the players for the 2020 Motor City19U team.

This year’s Maine Independent Baseball League was a replacement for the American Legion Baseball season which was canceled for the safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Dugout areas were extended to ensure proper social distancing among players, dugouts were sanitized pre- and post-game.
