Fred Beans Family of Dealerships has raised 135,000 meals for its 500,000 meals challenge.

The challenge, which was launched on May 5, was created to raise funds to fight hunger in the communities where Fred Beans operate, according to Fredbeans.com.

The automotive group aims to support families with school-aged children, seniors and veterans in their local areas. It has recently donated $15,150 to Bucks County Opportunity Council and $2,350 to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.

Salvation Army of West Chester, Salvation Army of Boyertown and The Flemington Area Food Pantry are some of the other beneficiaries of the challenge that Fred Beans Family of Dealerships has initiated.

As part of the challenge, which will last until December this year, the automotive group will donate $25,000 every month that will be divided among its beneficiaries. Part of the proceeds from car sales and service and CARSTAR collision bills will fund the monthly donation.

Fred Beans Family of Dealerships encourages its employees, vendors and customers to take part in the challenge.
