Mike Jackson named AutoNation’s CEO, chair

AutoNation, Inc. and its board of directors have entered into a contract with Mike Jackson as the company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer through April 12, 2022.

The decision came after Cheryl Miller resigned this week.

Jackson, who has been CEO for 20 years, will retire from the company upon the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer. AutoNation looks forward to naming his successor in early 2022, according to PR Newswire.

He and the board thanks Miller for becoming part of AutoNation.

"The Board is thankful for Cheryl's years of service and leadership, including the strategic partnership she built between AutoNation and Waymo," Jackson said. "We are grateful for her contributions and wish her all of the best in her future endeavors."

Miller, who was with the company for more than ten years was appointed president and CEO July last year, is likewise appreciative of the organization.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with so many talented and committed associates and leaders who I'm confident will continue to drive the company forward," Miller said.
