Subaru of America, Inc., and the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) have been honored with the 2020 Silver Halo Award in the "Best Sustainability Initiative" category during the Engage for Good Virtual Conference on May 28.

The award is in recognition for the Don't Feed the Landfills campaign which was launched to help the preservation of national parks.

Subaru with NPCA and the National Park Foundation have the same vision of minimizing landfill waste in the country’s national parks and have released pilot programs in Grand Teton National Park, Denali National Park and Yosemite National Park.

The three parks have almost doubled their recycling capabilities, resulting in over 16 million pounds of waste out of landfills since the campaign has started.

"Our national parks represent the very best of the American great outdoors, and we feel a responsibility to keep them clean and free of waste for future generations to enjoy," said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc. "We are honored that our ongoing work with NPCA and NPF has been recognized by Engage for Good with this Halo Award, and hope our efforts continue to inspire others to take care of the world around us."
