Volvo Construction Equipment officially achieved its milestone of reaching 1 million connected customer assets to Volvo Group customers, delivering four excavators equipped with Volvo’s telematics system CareTrack to Danish customer GSV Materieludlejning earlier this month.

CareTrack works by acquiring numerous machine data points, which are monitored remotely in a Volvo Uptime Center by its experts using diagnostic software to process vast amounts of real-time data and filter back only the most relevant ones to the customer and dealer.

“We are excited to be part of this connectivity revolution and proving what can be achieved with a first-class fleet management system," Dan Vorsholt, CEO of GSV Materieludlejning said in a press release. "It is essential that we are able to keep track of every aspect of our business, so being able to monitor our machine productivity, right down to the second, is a major contributor to our success.”

Jens Ejsing, Managing Director of Volvo Construction Equipment Denmark, noted that the event was a significant moment for the Volvo Group.

“We are happy to deliver machines that are not only robust and up for the job, but also come with connected solutions to make the customer's everyday work easier," he said in the release.
