BYD’s SUV Tang launched at the Concours d'Elegance

BYD Company Ltd held a showcase for its battery-electric Luxury SUV Tang at the Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach, California, on Aug 13-18.

The company also hosted a panel discussion regarding the future of urban transportation from Aug. 15-18.

"We were proud to show the artistry and craftsmanship of the Tang to an audience that truly appreciates fine automobile design," said Stella Li, senior vice-president of BYD and president of BYD North America. "The Tang is a symbol of BYD's commitment to innovation, both in battery-electric technology and in design."

The Tang reflects the company’s mantra of "Design with Passion.” It comes with an intelligent, rotatable pad to access different apps. But aside from this technology, the Luxury SUV also has a wide array of features that provides safety and convenience to its users, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, intelligent temperature control, lane departure warning and a pedestrian collision warning system.

The panel discussion, which was moderated by Thomas Stone, BYD's senior strategic advisor, brought together experts in transportation strategy, auto design and architecture. The experts talked about balancing technology and architecture to come up with smart and sustainable transportation systems. Stone has over four decades of experience with transit technologies.
