Tesla buyers have the highest average credit scores, according to LendingTree analysis

LendingTree has recently published the result of its study that ranked car brands by its buyers' average credit score. It was found out that Tesla consumers had the highest with a score of 740 while Chrysler buyers had an average score of 656, the lowest.

Porsche and Lexus followed Tesla with average credit scores of 727 and 699 respectively. The study also showed that for most brands, a credit score in the good range (670-739) was enough to be approved for an auto loan, wherein out of the 30 different makes analyzed, 22 of which had an average approved credit score that falls into that range.

The online loan marketplace studied over 35,000 used auto loans on its LendingTree platform to rank car brands by their buyers' average credit score. The credit score was based on 2018 purchase data on its platform.
