Green Car Journal and The Washington Auto name 'Green Car' finalists

The finalists for 2019 Connected Green Car of the Year and Green Car Technology of the Year have been named by Green Car Journal and The Washington Auto.

The awards are in recognition of the advanced vehicles and current technology efforts that can augment the progress and future of automobiles. Winners will be announced at a Green Car Awards press conference on April 4 at the Washington Auto Show.

Vying for 2019 Connected Green Car of the Year are Audi e-tron, Nissan LEAF, Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid, Tesla Model 3, and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

Chevrolet Dynamic Fuel Management, Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell Powertrain, Nissan VC-Turbo Engine, Mitsubishi PHEV Powertrain, RAM eTorque, compete for the 2019 Green Car Technology of the Year.

“Connected ‘green’ cars, that artfully blend environmental performance with connectivity, convenience, and enhanced safety, have enormous consumer appeal today and are at the forefront of vehicle development,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher, Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com. “Enabling technologies recognized through Green Car Technology of the Year are among the unsung heroes that make current and future generations of more environmentally positive vehicles possible.”

“Vehicle environmental performance, advanced technologies and connectivity are extremely important to automakers, consumers, policymakers and others in the Washington, D.C. area. Green Car Journal has been a great partner for the show and we’re happy to have the Green Car Awards back at the Washington Auto Show for the 12th year,” said show president and CEO John O’Donnell.
