Brian Stone marvels over the way no single individual defines what Balise Collision Repair of Rhode Island has become.
“I would say it’s our culture that separates us from every other shop,” Stone told Mega Dealer News after Balise, for the second straight year, was named the 2018 Toyota Certified Collision “Shop of the Year” Triple Crown winner. “Our way is we have great people all working for one common goal.”
That simple philosophy has done wonders for Balise, with the award from Toyota recognizing the shop for “high standards in customer satisfaction,” along with “specific productivity metrics” within the collision repair industry.
“The Triple Crown honor is awarded to the No. 1 Toyota Center in the country, making it a prestigious award every shop tries to get,” Stone added. “Winning it definitely makes for a proud moment because this award doesn’t go to the biggest store or the prettiest shop. The competition for it is in no way a popularity contest.”
Stone said being tabbed for such distinction tells you everything you need to know about what Balise stands for.
“It’s absolutely representative of the people that make up this company,” he said. “I’ve been here 17 years and owner Jeb Balise has always stood by the saying, ‘We may not be the biggest shop, but we strive to be the best.’ That goes hand and hand with how everyone here carries themselves, It’s not an accident that we’re at this point and place.”
Going forward, Stone said Balise has plans for opening centers in Rhode Island and Massachusetts before the end of the year, both with the same standards the company has become so well known for.
“We’re building for the future and we’re doing it the Balise way,” he said.
For the last four years, Balise has also won the Toyota Excellence Award.
