Dealer Simplified helps dealers win at vehicle auctions

Dealer Simplified’s winning formula hasn’t been restricted to just its own operations.

“We help dealers start their own auction (usually a silent bid sale) to help them eliminate auction fees and increase profit,” Kevin B. Leigh, co-founder and chief operating officer of the upstate New York operation told Mega Dealer News. “Our dealers usually make more money on wholesale and will eliminate seller’s fees for good. Basically (we're) helping dealers become the auction.”

As recently as 2015, at least some dealers paid nothing to sell their vehicles, with Dealer Simplified collecting a per-vehicle fee of $25 to $120 from the buyer and paying $20 of anything over $25 to sellers as a way of aiding them in covering all costs associated with hosting a public viewing before auction day, according to Automotive News.

Leigh further describes the company’s niche as providing “automotive auction and bid sale software and wholesale buyer’s network,” naming such dealership’s as Suburban Auto Collection, West Herr Automotive Group and Competition Automotive Group as some of the most notable operations Simplified has worked with.

More and more, its partners seem to like what they’re experiencing and the return they're getting on their business investment.

In one recent instance, Manchester Honda compared the way the company conducted silent auctions for 20-years with the way it has come to do things with Simplified, raving “we evolved from handwritten bid sheets to Excel spreadsheets and now to a very robust online bid sale with the Auction Simplified product. Our transition was seamless and the staff helped our buyers acclimate to the new online platform.”

The company went on to credit Simplified with allowing it to “present a very professional online bid sale with pictures of vehicles, condition reports and quality descriptions.”

Finally, Manchester marveled being associated with Simplified has helped improve buyer confidence and added to their bottom-line.

“By increasing our buyer confidence and leveraging Auction Simplified's call center, we have increased the number of buyers and overall traffic at our bid sale,” the dealership added. “Manchester Honda looks forward to continuing our relationship with the Auction Simplified team and the innovations that they bring to the market.”
