Tires come with a lot of numbers and letters; purchasing the right ones depends on understanding what the various written designations mean.
The Walser Automotive Group's service center can explain the meaning of each letter and number. The first letter is either a P for passenger or LT for light truck, which indicates the tire's usage class. The first number measures the tire's width from one sidewall to the other. The second number is the aspect ratio, which refers to the height of the sidewall. The following letters indicate the tire's speed rating and whether it has radial construction. The next number gives the tire’s diameter in inches.
