Jones Junction offers helpful etiquette tips for rideshare passengers to make each trip a good one.

Don't make the driver wait for you; only call when you're ready for that ride. Rideshare services charge passengers by the minute any time a driver has to wait for more than two minutes.

Pre-screen your driver by paying attention to the star rating. A higher rating means the driver is reliable. If your driver seems strange or has a very low rating, don't accept the ride. Do note that rideshare services charge for canceled rides in some cases.

Do not create a mess in the car. Treat it as if it was your own. Don't snack in the car, but if you must, clean up after yourself.

Introduce yourself to the driver when picked up just to be sure you're getting into the right vehicle. Someone else may also have called for a ride nearby, too.

Double check that you put the correct pick up location into the app when you request a ride. Don't change your destination plans too many times. You may need to in a pinch, but keep things simple and stress-free for the driver.

Use common decency, too. Don't use foul language, yell or be disruptive to the driver. Stay alert during the entire ride too, and trust your instincts. At the end of the ride, thank the driver.
