Dodge unveils bold colors for 2017, 2018 models

Vehicles at Dodge dealerships are awash in bold, vibrant colors with names that are just as wild, according to a post on the Fremont Motors website.

In 1969, Dodge released “high impact colors” for its muscle cars, with color names such as Plum Crazy and Panther Pink, the posting said. Such colors stand out just as well on newer versions of the Challenger and Charger.

“Impact colors really speak to Dodge heritage,” La Shirl Turner, in charge of colors for FCA US, said in the posting. “And providing the customer with a color that is eye-catching, gives them what they want – to get noticed.”

The new bold colors will be available for 2017 and 2018 models of the Dodge Challenger, Charger, Viper, Durango, Journey and Grand Caravan. Some of the available colors are named Blu By You, Stout Brown, White Knuckle, Yellow Jacket, Blood Orange, Green Go and Black Onyx.

“Our heritage-inspired paint names are just one example of how the Dodge brand attitude is in everything we do, even a simple detail like a color name,” Tim Kuniskis, in charge of passenger car brands for Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat – FCA North America, said in the posting. “This is more than just a catchy way to call out our paint. These names connect with our customers, speaking to their personality, their car passion and their love of Dodge.”
