CarMax celebrates Palmdale grand opening, donates funds to support youth programs

CarMax has donated $15,000 to California organizations supporting youth.

CarMax recently opened a new location in Palmdale, California, at 405 West Technology Drive. In celebration of the opening, CarMax gave $5,000 to the Antelope Valley Boys & Girls Club in Lancaster. CarMax employees also volunteered to help the organization.

The Palmdale CarMax will stock up to 200 used vehicles. So far, this location has brought 60 jobs to the region.

The CarMax Foundation is also granting $10,000 to the YMCA of Metro Los Angeles, Antelope Valley to supply STEM materials, art supplies, healthy snacks and swimming programs for area children.

“CarMax associates are really passionate about giving back to our local communities and we look forward to participating in more opportunities with the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club,” Arnold Chaparro, general manager at CarMax Palmdale, said in a press release. “The Palmdale community and city leaders have been so welcoming of CarMax and we look forward to serving customers here with the easy, no-haggle CarMax experience.”
