Findlay Volkswagen Henderson General Manager Melisa Eichbauer has been providing support for employees and community members during the COVID-19 pandemic by transforming the dealership's community room into a pantry for canned goods, shelf-stable milk, cereals, fresh fruits, vegetables and bread.

The pantry is open to employees and anyone in the community who is in need. Anyone who needs assistance but prefers to keep their social distance may call 702-558-6600, ext. 6626, or email Marcy Colletti at mcolletti@findlayauto.com to let Findlay Volkswagen Henderson know of their request. Foods will be packed and brought out curbside.

“Like many dealerships, we’ve started to feel the pinch in relationship to COVID-19 and our stay-at-home initiative that we have here in Nevada," said Eichbauer. "We were required to close our showroom and we started to see less customers on our service drive. I could see the stress and worry mounting on my team members' faces and it kept me up at night trying to find solutions to keep the business going and to keep them motivated.

"I decided to build a pantry," she continued. "Let’s make it for employees and let’s fill it with foods that maybe they can’t access right now, whether it’s because of availability or just funding, and that’s what we did. We put together a pantry of shelf-stable foods and we told all of our employees that it was here for them and if there was a need beyond that to let us know. We wanted to make sure they knew that we cared about them and their families and that we will all get through this together.”
