Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) President Liza Myers Borches recently called for more diversity in the industry.

"We still have a long way to go, especially as you get into the upper levels of most dealership groups, including ours," Borches recently told True Car.

Borches, who was recently named the Barbara Cox Woman of the Year by Cox Automotive, said it takes starting with diverse team members on the showroom floor and the service drives who are groomed and promoted from within to create a diverse team across the board.

“In order for us to fully understand the viewpoints of what our customers want, we need people who connect with our customers on all levels and that’s all genders, all races, and all ages," Borches said. "The only way we can understand and make good decisions going forward on the way we treat our customers is we've got to have a diverse team."
