Valley Honda in Aurora, Ill. was among the North American vehicle dealerships to receive DealerRater’s Dealer of the Year Award last month for its exceptional service throughout the past year.

Forty-one U.S. dealerships were awarded the title on Jan. 28 based on consumer feedback from DealerRater’s U.S. and Canadian websites highlighting their strong performances. The winning dealerships were chosen based on their customer service, quality of work, friendliness, pricing and overall experience.

“I can tell you that the entire organization was excited about that, not just in our sales operation, but all of our team – sales management, associates, technicians and porters,” Valley Honda Owner Robert Navarre told Mega Dealer News.

New and used car dealerships can qualify for the Dealer of the Year Award if they have at least 25 customer reviews written on DealerRater sites in the past year and maintain a minimum four-star rating. Navarre thanks customers for both the positive and negative feedback on Valley Honda, as the company would not be able to determine necessary improvements without examining the criticism.

“We learn a lot from the feedback that our clients give us, whether it be positive and, in some cases when we don’t perform well, bad feedback,” Navarre said. “Our focus is not on just getting good online reviews, but it is making sure we have the processes in place here at Valley Honda to deliver on the customer experience.”

Navarre also commented on how the award is a clear reflection of his company’s culture, values and focus on serving clients. Navarre additionally believes the award is a great example of how well Valley Honda will perform moving forward.

“There is a tremendous future for our business in this community,” Navarre said. “We are passionate about serving our customers well, and if we don’t have that passion and that culture, then I would say our future is much, much more cloudy.”
