Hyundai Canada recently announced its fifth consecutive month of record sales with 7,914 units sold in December for a 14.4-percent gain over December 2018.
Full-year sales reached 133,2017 in 2019 for a 4.2-percent increase from the previous year.
Kona, Palisade, Venue SUV, Santa Fe and Tucson were some of the vehicles that contributed significantly to Hyundai’s historic year. SUV sales in 2019 posted a record of 78,980 units, compared to 67,171 units in 2018. Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, also boasted its third consecutive record-breaking performance, increasing year-to-date sales by 5.8 percent versus the year prior.
"This past year was a turning point for the brand," Hyundai Auto Canada President and CEO Don Romano said in a press release. "The automotive market is contracting, yet Hyundai's retail sales were up significantly, resulting in record market share gains."
