Zeigler Auto Group acquires three luxury dealerships in Illinois

Michigan-based Ziegler Automotive Group recently announced it is acquiring three luxury dealerships in Illinois from Motor Werks Auto Group.

The purchase of Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter of Hoffman Estates, Jaguar Land Rover of Schaumburg and Infiniti of Hoffman Estates is Zeigler's largest acquisition in history. Expected to be finalized by the end of the month, the deal is projected to mean 5,000 more units per year for Ziegler and an increase in annual sales of as much as $350 million, increasing the group's total to somewhere around $1.7 billion per year on 40,000 units.

“It’s all about the customer experience,” president and owner Aaron Ziegler told Mega Dealer News. “This gives our customers the chance to access some new brands and take the whole customer experience to another level. That’s what we’ve done with all our dealerships, little things like being able to extend hours or using the latest technology from the sales aspect to shorten the time to buy a car. Things that make it all about the customer.”

With the deal, Ziegler boasts 75 franchises and 30 locations in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, with brands including most of the domestic and many of the imported manufacturers. The company has more than 1,100 vehicles on its website at any given time.

“This was a chance to pick up some high-market brands in a market we’re already in,” Ziegler said. “I’ve already got a couple dealerships in that market and our Chrysler store is the largest Chrysler dealership in the Midwest. We’re always looking for the right opportunity, but being able to get some really good franchises in a market that we’re already in is a dream come true.”
