Mazda finishes down year with strong December sales

Mazda North American Operations has reported 2.4-percent sales growth in December compared to the same month last year with total sales of 26,491 vehicles. However, with 278,552 total units sold for the year, the automaker fell 7.2 percent from its 2018 totals. 

Notably, Mazda crossovers sales, including the CX-3, CX-30, CX-5 and CX-9, grew by 19.9 percent in December with 21,247 vehicles sold. For 2019, crossover sales are 1.4 percent better than last year with 198,534 vehicles sold.

Additionally, CPO sales posted an increase of 9.2 percent over its December 2018 sales with a total of 4.795 vehicles sold in December 2019.

Though Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) posted a 2.5-percent drop in December 2019 sales compared to last year with only 5,906 vehicles sold, its overall 2019 sales totaled 60,081 units for a 3.4-percent year-over-year gain.
